ANTI-REFLUX SURGERY COURSE

The first EFS postgraduate course was dedicated to both general surgery residents and specialist surgeons, with an interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery, and was focused on the management, practical issues, and technical aspects of anti-reflux surgery and hiatal hernia repair.
A 3 days course included 8 theoretical presentations and discussions, two live surgeries, and two hands-on workshops: ex-vivo biological models and experimental animal surgery.
An international panel of experts coordinated the course: Prof. Dr. Luigi Bonavina (Italy), Prof. Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Simic (Serbia), Prof. Dr. Dimitrios Theodorou (Greece), Dr. Moustafa Elshafei (Germany), Prof. Dr. Ognjan Skrobic (Serbia), Dr. Călin Popa (Romania),
The course was attended by 15 participants, residents and young surgeons from the region and 9 observers.
The feedback from the participants at the end of the course was more than satisfactory.
