They are internationally competitive at the highest level and lead to new scientific findings that are quickly made available to children and adolescents, ensuring their best possible care. Because top-level medicine requires top-level research and teaching. This takes place at the Children’s Hospital always and everywhere.

Research Center for the Child

The Children’s Hospital offers researchers a highly professional infrastructure for clinical and translational laboratory research through its Research Center for Children (FZK). Its goal is to create optimal conditions for innovative research and the resulting scientific insights.

The research is clinically and translationally oriented, patient-centered, and generates evidence. The close integration of medical services and research ensures that new scientific findings continuously lead to the development of evidence and innovative therapies. Patients at the children’s hospital and elsewhere directly benefit from this.

Teaching takes place at all levels of training for all professions and, in addition to practical skills and knowledge, also imparts specific knowledge about dealing with children and their families.
